About AKSNA

The Alaska School Nutrition Association (AKSNA) is the state affiliate of the School Nutrition Association (SNA), a national, nonprofit professional organization representing more than 58,000 members who provide high-quality, low-cost meals to students across the country. Recognized as the authority on school nutrition, SNA has been advancing the availability, quality and acceptance of school nutrition programs as an integral part of education since 1946.

About Our Membership

AKSNA Members live and serve communities across the Great State of Alaska. Alaska consists of 365 million acres of land, originally spanned four time zones, and is the northernmost, westernmost, and easternmost State in the U.S. Many Alaskan communities are not connected by road or highway, delivering food and services to many Alaskan communities requires an airplane, boat, snow machine, and ATV.
