AKSNA’s 57th Annual Conference will be held in Anchorage, Alaska 21 – 23 January 2025; additional Farm-to-School and ServSafe Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) training will be held 24 January. The Food and Vendor Expo will be on the 23rd where members will have the opportunity to meet vendors and learn about new and popular foods and products in school nutrition.
Join us as we exchange knowledge with fellow Alaskans at this year’s conference. Our keynote speaker will be JoAnne Robinett of America’s Meal; she brings 30 years of experience in the School Nutrition industry. Sessions will include troubleshooting panel discussions that cover topics ranging from meal pattern accommodations to inventory management, as well as helpful hints for presenting your school nutrition department to the community and the school board.

JoAnne Robinett is a School Nutrition Specialist. Her school food service spans 30 years in many different capacities – starting her career as a two hour dishwasher. Retired from day-to-day supervision; her programs were recognized as “Excellent” and “Stellar”. Currently, she is owner of “America’s Meal”, a school meal consulting and training firm. An active participant with the School Nutrition Association; she has presented training sessions in well over a dozen states for audiences of business officials, child nutrition professionals, and industry partners. She seems to make a unique connection with the staff that directly feeds the kids – maybe because that is where she fell in love with this field.
An advocate of lifelong learning, JoAnne received two college degrees (and did some doctoral work) AFTER she started working in Child Nutrition. JoAnne has been quoted in USA Today, Parenting Magazine, and The Boston Globe. Her articles have been featured in many state association publications, in Great Possibilities, and in School Nutrition, SNA’s flagship publication.
JoAnne lives in Jamestown, Ohio. She loves to travel. She winters on the Gulf of Mexico in southwest Florida and travels abroad each year. She has been called the “Rock Star Lunchlady”, and the “Funny Lunchlady.” The best part is that those who attend her sessions don’t just laugh, they always learn.
